CPI(M) senior leader and MLA Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami today condemned killings of two youth in separate incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, and urged upon authorities to investigate them thoroughly and bring culprits to justice.
On Baramulla, the MLA Kulgam said the incident could have been easily prevented with a more cautious approach instead of a trigger-happy response.
Taking to micro-blogging site X (formerly Twitter) Tarigami said: “Strongly condemning the killing of a truck driver in Army firing in Sopore after he allegedly ignored the soldiers’ signal to stop. The unfortunate incident could have been easily prevented with a more cautious approach instead of a trigger-happy response”.
“In another shocking incident, a 25-year-old man died after allegedly being subjected to brutal torture by the police in Billawar, Jammu. Both incidents must be thoroughly investigated to ensure accountability and bringing the culprits to justice,” he added on X.
