Intensifying its action against drug dealings and to neutralised the activities of drug peddlers within the district, Kathua Police under the overall supervision of *SSP Kathua Sh. Shobhit Saksena IPS* recovered approx. 6.45 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics at chakra bridge area of P/S Hiranagar , 01 drug peddler was arrested alongwith narcotics substance got seized on spot.
On 31-07-2025 a Police team led by Insp. Ashish Sharma SHO PS Hiranagar under the supervision of *SP Ops. Kathua Sh. Mukund Tibrewal IPS* and SDPO Border Sh. Dheeraj Singh Katoch during naka checking at Chakra Bridge noticed one suspect who was directed to stop for checking. On physical checking approx. 6.45 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics recovered from the possession of 1. Zafir Iqbal S/o Lal Hussain R/o Bhamberwah Tehsil Marheen District Kathua.Thereafter all the recovered narcotics approx. 6.45 grams Heroine like substance was seized and one drug peddler arrested.On this a case under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Hiranagar while further investigation is underway.
District Police consistent efforts against drug peddlers try to reassure the community members that we are making untiring efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
