Continuing their efforts under the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan” in Reasi, District Police Reasi have executed another significant strike against drug peddlers. They have booked and detained a notorious individual, Ravi Kumar, under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PITNDPS) Act, subsequently lodging him in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.

Despite numerous warnings to cease supplying drugs to the youth of District Reasi, Ravi Kumar persisted in his illegal activities, driven by the motive of illicit financial gain at the expense of the younger generation in Reasi and Katra.
Considering his continued involvement in drug peddling and the necessity to safeguard the youth, stringent legal action under the PITNDPS Act was deemed essential.
Under the directives of Paramvir Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi, Ravi Kumar’s dossier for PITNDPS was meticulously prepared. Following the issuance of the necessary detention order (Order No. 25 of 2025 dated 28-04-2025) by Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, he was apprehended by a team from Police Station Katra, led by the SHO PS Katra, and subsequently incarcerated in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.
Issuing a strong message to drug peddlers, SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh reiterated that there is no place for such individuals in Reasi. He urged those involved in the drug trade to abandon this destructive path that ruins the lives of the younger generation and to reintegrate into mainstream society. Failure to do so, he warned, would result in strict action.
