KARGIL, Ladakh – A tragic road accident occurred in the Shilikchey area of Kargil district on Tuesday, resulting in the deaths of five people and injuries to two others.
The collision involved a Scorpio and a tipper, both of which plunged into a gorge.
Responding swiftly to the incident, Kargil Police and local volunteers initiated a rescue operation. The injured were transported to the hospital, where five individuals were declared dead.
The two surviving victims are currently in critical condition.
Among the deceased, three were local residents, while the remaining two hailed from Uttar Pradesh.
Kargil Police have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the accident.
