A gunfight broke out between security forces and terrorists in the Khanyar locality of Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, on Saturday morning.
The encounter began after security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area, acting on intelligence inputs about the presence of militants. As the search party advanced, the terrorists opened fire, triggering a fierce exchange of gunfire.
So far, no casualties have been reported from either side. The operation is ongoing.
