Kathua Police, under the direction of SSP Shobhit Saksena, IPS, continues its crackdown on drug trafficking. Officers from Police Post Hatli apprehended a female drug peddler and seized approximately 9.8 grams of heroin (Chitta).
On February 19, 2025, acting on credible intelligence, a police team led by PSI Shubham Mahajan, IC PP Hatli, conducted a checkpoint operation. Under the guidance of DySP Hqrs Kathua, Sh. Manjeet Singh, and SHO PS Kathua, Insp. Sandeep Chib, the team intercepted Jyoti Devi, resident of Chak Drab Khan, Kathua. A search revealed she was in possession of 9.8 grams of heroin. She was immediately arrested, and the contraband was seized.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 82/2025, U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act, PS Kathua, and further investigation is underway.
