Police in Bakshi Nagar have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Ashok Kumar, Sahil Badiyal, Aman Badiyal, and Rishi, following a violent assault on a family in Shakti Nagar, Jammu.
The complaint, filed by Sanjay Kumar, alleges that on February 2, 2025, at approximately 7:30 PM, the accused forcibly entered his residence with intent to cause grievous harm. The assailants reportedly attacked Sanjay Kumar and his father, Madan Lal, with baseball bats and lathis. Madan Lal suffered severe injuries, including those sustained after being forcibly thrown from the rooftop of the residence. He was subsequently transported to GMC Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Initially, the case was registered under sections 333, 109, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sahita (BNSS). Following Madan Lal’s death, the police invoked murder charges and promptly apprehended all four accused.
The Station House Officer (SHO) of Bakshi Nagar Police Station has initiated a comprehensive investigation. The crime scene was secured, and forensic experts from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and the Crime Team were dispatched to collect crucial evidence. In compliance with Section 105 of the BNSS, the crime scene was meticulously video-graphed using the e-Sakshya application, and witness statements were recorded on-site.
The police have pledged a thorough and impartial investigation, ensuring all evidence is meticulously gathered to facilitate a strong prosecution and secure convictions for the accused.
