Continuing its drive against illegal activities and in strict enforcement of the prohibitory orders issued by the District Magistrate, the Police Station Janipur has apprehended two persons for possession of banned synthetic thread (Gattu).
A team from Police Station Janipur apprehended two accused persons namely Koushal Kumar and P.K Thapa , who were found in possession of 10 rolls of banned Gattu, a dangerous material known for causing serious injuries during kite flying. The accused persons were intercepted and could not produce any authorization for the possession of the banned material.
In this regard case FIR No. 109/2025 and 110/2025 has been registered under relevant provisions of law, and both the accused persons has been arrested.
Further investigation is ongoing to trace the supply chain and determine any other persons involved in the illegal distribution of this banned item.
The Jammu Police once again appeals to the general public to refrain from using or storing such banned materials and warns that strict legal action shall be taken against violators.
