On February 11, 2025, Siddiq, son of Mohd Ashraf, a resident of Tanda, RS Pura, filed a written complaint. He stated that on February 7, 2025, at approximately 7:00 PM, his younger brother, Mohd Saleem, also a resident of Tanda, RS Pura, was wrongfully restrained and assaulted with deadly weapons while standing opposite Deedar Medical Shop in Tanda. The alleged perpetrators were:
- Dheeraj Kumar, alias Jatt, son of Janak Raj, resident of Chohala Kothey, RS Pura.
- Shibu Kumar, son of Garu Ram, resident of Chohala Kothey, RS Pura.
- Several unknown individuals.
Mohd Saleem sustained serious injuries in the assault and was immediately taken to GMC hospital for treatment.
A case (FIR No. 26/2025) was registered at RS Pura Police Station under sections 126(2)/115(2) of the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNS) and Section 4/25 of the Arms Act. An investigation was launched.
A special police team, led by SHO RS Pura, Sh. Ravi Singh Parihar, acting on intelligence and utilizing technical assistance, apprehended both named accused. During questioning, they confessed to their involvement in the crime. A sharp-edged weapon, the weapon used in the assault, was recovered based on their disclosures.
