Officers in J&K Dodge LG’S Grievance Cell: Dr Shazad

Expressing serious concern over the readymade and mechanical replies served by the officers in online grievance portal maintained and supervised by the office of Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, the Border Area Development Area Conference(JK-BADC) a registered organization of border dwellers has asked the Chief Secretary to take strict action against the officers who dodges the directive issued through online grievance cell.

The organization in a press statement has said that “The LG’s online grievance portal which was started with a positive approach by the J & K government has been reduced to a mockery by the officers, as either these officer do not attend the grievances of the citizens within prescribed time limit of 15 days or they serve readymade and mechanical replies and dispose of the grievance, leaving no option for the aggrieved citizens”.

Dr Shazad Ahmed Malik, Chairman of the BADC and former VC while commenting upon the role of officers in making this online Grievance portal (www.jkgrievance.in) redundant , he informed that various submissions and grievances submitted by the Volunteers of BADC through Online Grievance Cell has been disposed of without any satisfactory reply by the officers.

He stated that not even a single incompetent and corrupt officer or official has been taken to task on the complaint received through LG’s grievance Cell. The BADC chairman asked the government to either strengthen this portal by taking appropriate action against the officers who male inordinate delay in submitting response of the grievance(s) of the citizens or just stop this portal so that public money is not wasted.
